eKeypad Mobile Solutions, LLC (“eKeypad”) believes the privacy of your information is important so we have developed a Privacy Policy to cover how we collect, use, disclose, and store your personal information.
When you use our websites, mobile applications, support services or other related services we are committed to protecting your personal information. Please take a moment to review the information in this policy before using our Services and contact us if you have any questions.
Information Collected by eKeypad
eKeypad’s primary goal is to minimize the collection of your personal information. When you use our Services we collect a variety of information about you, your devices and your interaction with our Services. Some of this information can identify you directly or can identify you when combined with other data.
- Information You Provide
When you communicate with use or interaction with our Services, it may necessary to provide information about yourself or your equipment. For example, registering for a user account or requesting help from technical support. This may include information such as your name, or technical details of your equipment setup. - Application Usage
When launching our mobile applications, generic and anonymous information about how you are using it is transmitted and logged. Examples of the data collected include the device model, software versions, equipment type counts and other similar non-identifying data allowing eKeypad to understand application usage patterns. - Push Notifications
When your device sends a push notification it passes through our servers which have visibility of the message and non-identifying data specifying the destination. This information is not stored by eKeypad unless we are actively providing technical support services related to push notification functions. - Usage Logs
When you access eKeypad websites, information is automatically reported by your browser. Our servers logs information such as your web request, Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, and other similar information.
Information Collected by Third Parties
eKeypad uses Third Party companies in some aspects of our Services. As part of the work these companies perform, eKeypad provides limited information as appropriate and required. You may also be required to provide these Third Party companies additional information beyond what you have provided to eKeypad.
This Privacy Policy document applies only to eKeypad Services and your communications with us. We do not make any representations about the security or policies of Third Party companies. To learn more, consult their respective privacy policies.
- Purchases and Subscriptions
eKeypad uses Apple Inc. for payment processing. By using this feature, you grand Apple the right, power and authority to access and transmit your personal and financial information from the relevant financial institution. Your personal and financial information will be transferred, stored, and processed by Apple in accordance with their Privacy Policy. - Push Notifications
eKeypad uses Airship Inc. to implement the push notification features of our Services. By using these features your device will automatically provide the necessary information Airship requires for delivery of notifications. This includes, but may not be limited to a unique code identifying your physical device. This information will be transferred, stored, and processed by Airship in accordance with their Privacy Policy.
Please note that the existence of links to external websites or companies or applications does not imply endorsement of the linked company by eKeypad or any association with its operators, products, or services.
How eKeypad Uses Your Information
During normal operation of our Services, the usage data we collect does NOT give us access to: (a) your computer, or (b) how to access your equipment unless otherwise explicitly stated.
When we do collect personal identifying information about you, we make reasonable efforts to safeguard this information and use it exclusively to provide more efficient customer service and improve our Services.
The data that is collected is used for, but is not limited to the following activities.
- Provide and deliver our Services;
- Send you technical notices, updates, and security alerts;
- Respond to your communications, questions, and requests;
- Provide customer support services;
- Monitor and analyze the usage patterns of our Services;
- Revise, modify, and update existing Services;
- Design and develop new Services;
- Detect, investigate and prevent fraudulent or other illegal activities;
- Protect the rights of eKeypad and others; and
- Other purposes described at the time information was collected.
By using eKeypad Services or by communicating with us, you hereby authorize eKeypad to access information as outlined above, and to use such information as needed to support and improvement eKeypad Services.
When eKeypad Discloses Your Information
eKeypad does NOT sell, distribute or lease any information we collect about you to third parties except in the following circumstances:
- With Your Consent
When you direct keypad to share information with another person or company. For example, this can happen when you request that we work directly with your local, professional equipment installer. - Third Party Service Providers
When eKeypad hires or partners with a company to help operate parts of our Services or business, we may disclose certain personal information. We only share the minimum information necessary for them to perform the service for eKeypad, and subject to the terms of this privacy policy. For example, this can happen when making an in-app purchase of a module or subscription. - Business Transfers
If and when ekeypad is involved in a merger, acquisition, or any form of transfer or sale of some or all of its business, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, we may share your personal information in connection with that transaction. - Legal Requests
As permitted by local law and regulation, any personal or technical information provided to eKeypad may be disclosed if we have a good faith belief that such disclosure is necessary to (a) comply with the law or legal process served on eKeypad; or (b) protect and defend the rights and property of eKeypad or others; in any event, eKeypad will disclose information only in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Technical Support
In the event you require technical support from eKeypad it may be necessary to provide additional personal and private information about yourself and the equipment you have installer.
If replicating a complex issue on internal eKeypad equipment is not possible, temporary access to your equipment may be necessary. We have put in place several technical support procedures and application functions to help safeguard and protect your information while on route.
- Temporary Credentials
Before sharing any information with eKeypad technical support about your equipment, we advise creating temporary logins and user codes. This allows you to retain active control of your equipment and the ability to remove our access to your equipment quickly and easily. - Backup Files
For equipment configuration data, our mobile applications may offer the functionality to create and restore configuration backup files. We advise using this functionality if available. This method uses encryption to protect your private information during transport. - Communication Methods
We may request that certain information be sent using a different method than other data for the same request. For example, emailing a username but sharing the passcode verbally on a phone call. This separation of information protects your important data from interception while in transport to or from us.
If you do not use the guidelines we provide to you during a technical support session, we will be unable to make representations about the security of any information or data you send. You will do so at your own risk.
During the execution of technical support services eKeypad will also use the following policies around the access and use of your information:
- Remote Access
We will only access your equipment in the way and time you specify. Unless we have your explicit consent, we will never connect, monitor or control your equipment. - Supervision
Any time we connect to your equipment, you or a representative you have designated must be present on site to monitor our actions unless you have given us explicit permission to do so unsupervised. - Data Logging
As a result of the normal process of troubleshooting issues we will collect various types of data about your equipment in logs. This information will not be retained past the resolution of the issue. - Configuration Changes
You, or representative you designate, will be required to make any and all necessary configuration changes to your equipment. The eKeypad technical support personnel will NOT be able to make configuration changes to your equipment.
Upon resolution of the technical support issue eKeypad will immediately make a good faith effort to purge all equipment details and backup files from our possession. This includes, but is not limited to the following eKeypad equipment: (a) mobile devices, (b) computers, (c) server logs, (d) SMS history, and (d) email systems.
Please note that eKeypad may not have access to all copies of data sent using Third Party services. For example, email and SMS messages may be archived or retained by the company hosting the service.
How eKeypad Protects Your Information
To protect your information, we use encrypted connections any time data is transmitted between devices, servers, or devices. All communication with Third Party companies uses encrypted connections where available.
Usage by Children
eKeypad will not knowingly collect or maintain personal identifiable information from anyone we know to be under the age of 13.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
If changes are made to eKeypad’s Privacy Policy, we will post the updated version on our website with an updated revision date. This privacy policy is also available directly from within all Apps released after the revision date listed on this document.
